Behind the MusicArtist Bio

I am incredibly passionate about issues concerning climate change and the environment, which made this book and this project something very important to me. Ian captured the full spectrum of topics and many more in The Outlaw Ocean, and I found immediate inspiration the further I dove into each chapter. I had a mental outline and “scene” for each of my ten tracks, and worked to bring them cohesively together through different ambient sounds from Ian’s reporting, ominous piano hooks and various grand orchestral elements. I wanted to capture an “outlaw aesthetic” and convey the mystery of a future for our environment that is yet to be told.

The problems Ian explores in The Outlaw Ocean are growing and it’s something we should all be working to change for future generations. If there ever was a time to stand for something like this in an artistic light, the time for it is now.

Finding homes in the endless sub genres of Electronic Music, he continues to carve and create a unique fusion of space and sound, sending us on an everlasting sonic journey through the cosmos. Harnessing inspiration from starlit skies on dark quiet nights in a small studio located deep in the Mountains, he combined his love for space and emotionally driven music, creating the pseudonym Solar Heavy.

After seeing various releases over the years on YouTube curator channels, such as AirwaveMusicTV, and regularly releasing remixes of notable Artists, his music has garnered a growing diverse fan base.

Solar Heavy has also released some of his best works as cues for Songs To Your Eyes, a music publishing company known for working with clients such as HBO, Disney and Pixar.
