A Lonely Ocean

Lo-fi

Behind the Music

I have always dreamt of one day sailing the world, which makes it difficult for me to pinpoint a single part of The Outlaw Ocean that particularly resonates with me. Nevertheless, I found the book to be incredibly eye-opening and surprising. One such thought-provoking chapter I found particularly interesting was “Jail Without Bars.” I was compelled by the theme of loneliness present in the book and how the sea can sometimes inspire that loneliness. I imagine myself alone in the overwhelmingly vast ocean and tried to emulate such an experience in three distinct songs that all share a similar tone.
