Behind the Music
A form of voice, a vehicle to empower narratives, and an outlet to express passions – journalism and its multifaceted delivery is integral to our society. The ocean covers more than 70% of Earth’s surface, yet we know so little about it. Ian’s reporting in The Outlaw Ocean illustrates the lawlessness hidden underneath the surface. This investigative journalism raises awareness of these terrifying events and stories, casting away ignorance and acting as a window into reality for the rest of society. It is our duty as citizens of the world to be socially aware of these problems so we can disseminate them further.
Journalism, music and art operate as a medium that communicates a message. Music is universal and everyone can be captivated by its beauty. Interwoven with emotions and abstraction, these forms of art have the capacity to unravel issues hidden to the world.
