Behind the Music

There really isn’t a better time than now for a book like Ian’s to be attracting awareness for the truths he exposes. The contents of The Outlaw Ocean are eye-opening, and the issues presented in this book are ones that need to be understood by everyone. Music has the capability to convey a powerful message through emotional energy that resonates deep within, helping us to wake up to issues like these and work as a collective to evolve. We as humans respond to rhythm and sounds, and songs provide a platform for people to communicate messages and stories. I myself have been experiencing a journey of feelings brought on by the current state of the world. This pendulum of emotions influenced me heavily while composing my tracks, and compelled me to create songs that would be soothing and comforting for listeners.

About Sheset Steez

Sheset Steez is from Calgary and her talents show no limits. Sheset is a multi-genre DJ, she loves to play a variety of electronic bass music — anything from House, Bassline and Breaks to Hip Hop and DnB. This chick gets the dance floor jumpin’ and always throws down a party.

After six months of learning and practicing to become a DJ, Sheset headlined her first gig in 2009 and landed a weekly residency at Calgary club, Sal's. After a few months tearing it up, she decided to move on, try out some different locations, and entertain more crowds. She got brought on as a resident DJ at Wild Afterhours. As her career continued to leap forward, Sheset got a spot playing at Republik — one of Calgary’s hottest clubs — and was regularly featured in their “Klub OMFG” nights. A few years later she traveled and put on some hype shows in Los Angeles, Bangkok & Koh Phangan Full Moon parties in Thailand.

Recently, Sheset has taken a break from the stage and is focusing her energy into producing her own music so that she can take things to the next level. She is so passionate about her own music and wants to use it to inspire her fans the same way it inspires her. She finished her first track "Party’s Goin’ All Night" in January 2013, which was a success among her fan base. In 2015 Sheset released “Don’t Give a Fck!" with Freelikz along with a music video on Youtube.
