Behind the Music

I’ve taken an ambient approach to the music for this project. I used larger synth sounds to create more space and a relaxing tone. I'm a firm believer in less is more, and with these tracks, only a few key elements make up the music. However, I feel it’s strong enough to set the mood. As for emotions, I want the listener to feel as if they were on a journey on the water, traveling across the vast ocean. So, to achieve this, I used a lot of the water and boat sounds to really transport the listener to the ocean. I also made the music sound distant in some of the songs, as to recreate the feeling of just floating along in the water.

I would say my favorite chapter in the book would have to be, “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” I found this chapter not only exciting, but interesting. The story in the chapter was captivating. One of the main reasons I enjoyed it so much was because it described a different type of piracy. It wasn’t something I had come across before. So, I was intrigued to read it and to find out more about the subject.
