Le Voyage

Downtempo

Behind the Music

The method of confession in the book is very simple, and it makes every story powerfully penetrate the mind, conveying strong emotions so it feels like you are experiencing all the difficulties and adventures described in real-time. The whole book is accompanied by life-giving expressions and phrases that often seem philosophical. We have been producing music since we were 14 years old. We have had only our truth, which has led us to work harder to achieve what we aspire to. From Captain Samson’s story, we recall an expression that made us stop and think: “You don’t teach a crocodile to swim. They already know how.” No one taught us how to do what we do with music, but this is our habitat and we just know how to swim well.

Our opening song for “Le Voyage,” is named after the chapter, “Fluid Borders.” To read about the benefits of flowing borders put us into deep thought. In art, borders are fluid and we can move them for the good of the people. 70% of the earth’s surface is water, and this is vital for living things and the ecosystem. The music we produce is vital for our art.

“Armed and Dangerous” also follows that journey. We are armed, and our weapon is our music. If our art is threatened, we become dangerous by producing even more music under our signature. Music allows us to express our innermost feelings and thoughts that we cannot simply explain in words. Music is our voice, which allows us to defend ourselves in the earthly trials of this planet. For this, we tried to produce a catchy and dangerous melody that makes the heart beat a little faster.

“Undiscovered Realm” is our third song and stems from the first two titles. This title is meant to describe everything we do not know. “Le Voyage” is like the tip of the iceberg. It’s the third of the whole body that is visible. The two-thirds left is the unknown. We should not be superficial when producing music, sharing our art, or fighting for what seems right to us. Everything we do on the surface also affects the unknown.

“Sea Guardians” is our final song for this album and this voyage, too. We were looking to end the trip on a positive note by telling everyone that there is always someone, a guardian, who is looking after you and reminding you of the good things in life. Maybe that guardian is you. There is always hope. We can’t give up. We have to keep fighting for what’s true and real to us. There are people who look after the sea in the same way that our parents or loved ones look after us, even if sometimes those sea guardians are silent. For the ocean, there are sea guardians like Ian and other people who really care about what is happening. These guardians give these issues a voice and seek solutions to make the world a better place—one wave at a time.
